Perry Rides Again

My old brewery peristaltic pump, Perry for short, is back in action, and saving me a lot of tedious chore-time. These pumps move a discrete amount of liquid with every revolution, so if you know how much it pumps out per rev, you can figure out how many revolutions make a gallon, or whatever volume you want. This gives you an ‘assistant’ that can slowly and steadily pull the yeast and other sediment from the bottom of a tank, while you do something less stultifying. I put him together when I worked at Kickstand Brewing Co to do just that, and he was a great little time-saver. But after I left he just sat on the shelf, so when Scott asked if I wanted him I squealed an un-manly squeal of glee, and went to collect him (And also to have a couple tasty Deralia IPAs.)
